THE BUSHCHOOKS

The Bushchooks are a laid-back duo based in Taihape, playing the sweet, sweet sounds of Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Lucinda Williams, Paulo Nutini, Amy Winehouse and the like - as well as a growing list of originals. With a set list of over 50 songs, there is something there for everyone.

 

The Bushchooks are not your standard covers band though — their sets take you on a roller coaster ride of chilled and cruisey tunes through to smokin’ hot rock and roll. While The Bushchooks are small in numbers, they’re big on sound though - with a unique blend of ukulele, electric and acoustic guitars, kazoo, harmonica, keyboard, and male and female vocals.

 

Only recently formed in 2012, they have enjoyed playing at a variety of venues including beer festivals, school fairs, community events, and a colourful range of bars, restaurants and private functions.
